
Congratulations to Sandrea Nyivih, the 2020 recipient of the Women In Defense (WID) Mid-Atlantic Chapter Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education Scholarship!
Sandrea is a 2020 graduate of Harford Technical High School in Bel Air, Maryland. This fall she will attend University of Maryland Baltimore County, with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics and a focus on Cyber Security.
Sandrea was accepted to UMBC’s scholar’s program for women in technology! She has already earned three professionally acclaimed cyber certifications, including the Cisco CCENT, CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications.
Sandrea aspires to work for the federal government in cyber defense, to protect information security and to promote public safety. She hopes to use the knowledge that she accumulates in college and in her career to help the world!
The WID Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s annual $2,500 scholarship provides funding to female high school seniors pursuing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers related to the national security and defense interests of the United States.
