Casi’s blue and yellow campaign signs pop up on every other lawn during campaign season in Havre de Grace. And Casi herself can be found somewhere around town talking with residents or helping out at a community event. During the workday, Casi serves as HR Specialist at CECOM. Carefully balancing these two careers, she has found a way to serve both her local community and her country. How does she balance the time and ethical constraints of a career in government service with elected office? What do her career plans look like over the next 10 years? What advice does Casi have for women also looking to enter public office? We’ll explore all that and more in our one-hour webinar on June 15.

Casi Boyer was appointed to the Havre de Grace City Council in November 2017 and was recently reelected to her third full term in office in May. Her past work assignments have included serving as the executive officer for Software Engineering Center and as a member of the CECOM Commander’s Initiatives Group. Highly recognized for her work throughout her career, Casi has received the CECOM and C4ISR Mid-Level Employee of the Quarter awards, the U.S. Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, the U.S. Army Commander’s Award for Public Service and the MarCom Creativity Platinum Award recognizing outstanding achievement by marketing and communications practitioners. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Ursinus College and is a Certified Skilled Facilitator from Johns Hopkins University.  In addition to City Council, she serves on the Maryland Health Care Commission, and the Havre de Grace Community Projects Annual Thanksgiving Dinner Committee.

This year, WID Mid-Atlantic’s “Wind Down With WID” webinar series will feature the stories of accomplished women in our local defense community. During these virtual one-hour interactive discussions, we will hear their perspectives on career building blocks, how gender impacts advancement, and their recommendations for other women to enjoy similar success.
